The Moxo Smarsh Connector allows you to securely log and archive all interactions from your Moxo workspaces, directly in your Smarsh archiving solution. This integration ensures that all communications are stored in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.
By setting up this connector, Moxo will automatically log any workspace activity that occurs during the day as a batch into Smarsh. This batch will include every message exchanged, links to any files uploaded, and any user activity like annotations. This allows businesses to have a complete and secure record of all communications within Moxo.
Moxo's Smarsh Connector Overview
To use Moxo's Smarsh connector, you'll need to configure your Smarsh information in the Moxo Admin portal to connect your Moxo account to your Smarsh account. Moxo schedules a daily sync job at a specified time to log all new activity into your Smarsh archiving system.
Prerequisites and Setup
Before starting the setup process, you'll need to ensure you have the following:
- Access to the Moxo Admin portal.
- Administrative rights to configure connectors in Moxo.
- Smarsh Account ID (if using API connection method).
- SMTP details from your Smarsh team (if using SMTP connection method).
To set up Smarsh in Moxo:
- Go to your Moxo Admin portal.
- From the left-hand menu, select Connectors.
- In the list of available connectors, select Smarsh if enabled.
- After selecting Smarsh, click on Setup to begin the configuration process. This will enable Moxo to record all your workspace interactions and securely store them in Smarsh.
- You will be directed to the Smarsh Connector Setup page, where you will need to fill in several connection details:
- Sync Settings
- Set a Time: Select a time for the data sync to run every day. This determines when Moxo will sync data with Smarsh. You'll want to choose a specific time each day for this to occur automatically.
- Select a Time Zone: Set the time zone based on your location or the location that is most relevant for your business. This ensures that the synchronization happens at the right time in your local context.
- Connection Details: You will need to choose the connection method to link Moxo with Smarsh. You can either use API Connection or SMTP Connection.
- API Connection
- Account ID: Enter the Smarsh Account ID that will connect Moxo to your Smarsh account. Click on Save Changes to complete the configuration.
- SMTP Connection
- SMTP Server Address: Enter the SMTP server address provided by Smarsh.
- SMTP Username: Enter the SMTP username for authentication (usually your email address).
- SMTP Password: Enter the password associated with the SMTP username.
- SMTP Port: Enter the port number used for communication with the SMTP server.
- Sender Email Address: Enter the email address that Moxo will use to send emails to Smarsh.
- API Connection
- Sync Settings
- Once the connection details are filled in, you’ll have the option to Test Connection.
- Why is this important?
- The Test Connection button checks if the SMTP settings are valid and if Moxo can communicate with the Smarsh system. If there is an issue with the connection (e.g., incorrect server address, wrong port, or authentication failure), the test will fail with an alert- “Unable to establish connection” and you can fix the problem before proceeding.
- What happens if the test is successful?
- If the test is successful, you’ll see a successful test message saying '"Connection Successful”. Then the connection is correctly established, and you can move on to the final step.
- What happens if the test is unsuccessful?
- If the test fails, you will receive an error message saying "Unable to establish connection". Make sure your details are correct, and resolve any issues before proceeding.
- Why is this important?
- After the connection test is successful, click on Save Changes to finalize the configuration. This will store your settings and complete the integration.
