Dropbox and Moxo

The Dropbox integration in Moxo allows users to automate file uploads whenever a specific action is completed in a workflow. By integrating Dropbox, users can seamlessly manage files, ensuring they are automatically organized in designated folders.

 

Adding the Dropbox Automation in Moxo

To a Flow Template or Instant Flow

  1. Open the Flow Builder and navigate to where the automation will be added.
  2. Drag and drop Automations from the left-hand panel under Control, or click the + button between actions in the Flow, and select Automation.



To a Live Flow Workspace:

  1. Open the relevant Flow Workspace.
  2. Click the '...' ellipses icon.



  3. Select + Add New Action from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll down and select Automations under Control.



  5. Identify where the automation should be added, then click + Add Here.

 

Configuring the Dropbox Automation

In the automation interface, choose Dropbox from the available systems.

 

 

Step 1: Select App and Event 


  1. Choose Dropbox as the app.
  2. Select an event:
    • Upload file
    • Create folder
    • Upload file via Path
    • Find folder
  3. Click Next to proceed.

 


Step 2: Account Setup



  1. Click Choose to select an existing Dropbox account you have used in Moxo.
  2. If no account is connected, click + Connect a New Account and follow the prompts to link your Dropbox account.
  3. Once the account is connected, click Next.

 


Step 3: Add Input Details

If you choose "Upload File"

  1. Select the Dropbox Space and click Next.



  2. Select the previous action from the flow which you want to fetch the files. Files from the selected action will be uploaded to Dropbox.



  3. Choose the desired folder.



  4. Open Subfolder*:
    • Choose Yes to display and select a subfolder within the chosen folder.
    • Choose No to proceed without a subfolder.
  5. Click Next, review the automation setup, and then click Add Automation to proceed.



If you choose “Create Folder

  1. Select the Dropbox Space and click Next.



  2. Enter the folder name (mandatory) or use the ‘Autofill’ icon to fetch folder name details from DDR and click Next.



  3. Select the parent folder where the new folder should be created
    • Choose Yes to display and select a subfolder within the chosen folder.
    • Choose No to proceed without a subfolder.



  4. Click Next, review the configuration, and then click Add Automation.

 

If you choose “Upload File via Path

  1. Select the Dropbox Space and click Next.



  2. Select the previous action from the flow to fetch files. Files attached to the selected action will be uploaded.



  3. Enter the path (e.g., /main folder/subfolder/subfolder2) where you want to upload the file.
  4. Click Next, then click Add Automation to complete the setup.

 

If you choose “Find Folder

  1. Select the Dropbox Space where you want to search for the folder, then click Next.



  2. Enter the folder name you’re searching for or click on the ‘Autofill’ icon to fetch folder name details via DDR and click Next.



  3. Select the desired folder from the dropdown.



  4. Open Subfolder*:
    • Choose Yes to display and select a subfolder within the chosen folder.
    • Choose No to proceed without a subfolder.

  5. Click Next, review the setup, and then click Add Automation to finalize.

 

Once configured, the Dropbox automation will trigger automatically when the designated action is completed, uploading the specified files to the chosen Dropbox folder.

 

Managing the Dropbox Automation

  1. Navigate to the Flow Template or live Flow Workspace containing the automation.
  2. Hover over the automation you want to modify.



  3. Click the 'Edit' icon to adjust the app, event, account, or input fields as needed.
  4. Click Save Changes to apply updates.
  5. Click the 'Delete' icon to remove the automation.

Automations can only be edited in saved Flow Templates or live Flow Workspaces if the automation is incomplete. Once completed, the automation cannot be reopened or modified.



Mapping Automations and Events in a Flow

Once a Flow is initiated, click on the “...” ellipsis icon next to the Flow Workspace name and select Automations & Events.

Here, you can view all upcoming and completed automations and events.

 



Mapping the Trigger in the Third-Party App

To view the changes in the third-party app:

  1. Navigate to the Dropbox platform.
  2. Based on the input provided within the Flow, an event will be triggered in the relevant section.
  3. For example, if you create a new folder, you will find it in the All files section of Dropbox upon execution.

  • Pre-configure accounts, folders, and subfolders to ensure a smooth setup process.
  • Regularly review automations to keep them aligned with project needs and user roles.
  • Use subfolders to effectively organize files for more complex workflows.
