The Moxo Microsoft Dynamics 365 connector enables you to seamlessly sync client interaction data from Moxo into your Dynamics 365 environment. This integration ensures that your CRM records are always up to date with the latest client-related activities from Moxo, covering workspaces, actions, files, meetings, annotations, and more.
With this setup, every update to a linked Moxo workspace is automatically logged in the associated Dynamics 365 record, giving your teams complete visibility into client interactions without switching between platforms. Whether you’re tracking deal progress, case history, or customer service activities, the integration keeps your Dynamics 365 data fresh and accurate.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following in place:
- Access to the Moxo Admin Portal to configure connectors.
- Administrative access to your Microsoft Azure portal and Dynamics 365 instance.
- Dynamics 365 URL for your organization/tenant.
- Client ID from the Azure App Registration for Moxo.
- Client Secret generated for the registered Azure App.
- A configured Application User in Dynamics 365 with the necessary permissions to access and update relevant records.
Setting up the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Connector in Moxo
- Go to the Moxo Admin Portal.
- From the left-hand toolbar, navigate to Connectors.
- In the list of available connectors, find and select Microsoft Dynamics 365 (if enabled).
- Click Setup to begin configuration.
- You’ll be taken to the MS Dynamics 365 Connector Setup page where you need to enter connection details:
- Sync Settings
- Select a time to run every day at the same time: This setting determines when Moxo will sync data with MS Dynamics 365. Choose a time for this process to occur automatically each day.
- Select the time zone: Set the time zone to match the location of your business. This ensures the synchronization occurs at the same time.
- Connection Details
- Dynamics URL: Your Dynamics 365 organization/tenant URL (e.g., https://yourcompany.crm.dynamics.com).
- Client ID: From the Azure application you registered for Moxo.
- Client Secret: From the Azure application’s Certificates & Secrets section.
- Sync Settings
- Once details are entered, click Test Connection to verify Moxo can make API calls to Dynamics 365.
- If successful, you’ll see “Connection Successful.”
- If unsuccessful, you’ll see “Unable to establish connection”, check your credentials and permissions, then try again.
- Click Save Changes to store the settings and activate the integration.
How does this work?
Once set up, Moxo runs an automated daily sync at your chosen time. You don’t need to manually enter record IDs to connect Moxo with Dynamics 365. Once the integration is enabled, Moxo automatically matches the contact’s email address in Dynamics 365 with the Moxo user profile. Relevant conversations from that user’s workspace will then be logged directly in Dynamics 365.
This sync will:
- Pull all updates from Moxo workspaces linked to Dynamics 365 records within the last 24 hours.
- Log these updates as activities in Dynamics 365, ensuring your CRM timeline reflects:
- Workspace creation and updates
- Uploaded and shared files
- Meeting logs and notes
- Actions and task completions
- Comments and annotations
You’ll be able to see this activity history directly in the corresponding Dynamics 365 record’s timeline, giving sales, service, and operations teams a full view of client interactions without manual data entry.
Monitoring the Dynamics 365 Integration
The Moxo Admin Portal includes a monitoring dashboard where you can:
- View the status of each daily sync.
- See the number of workspaces, users, messages, and files synced.
- Check for any errors in the sync process. Confirm that Dynamics 365 timelines are being updated as expected.
This ensures your integration continues running smoothly and that your CRM data stays complete and reliable.
