Every workspace comes with an interaction panel, which includes a chat section and meetings section. Inside the chat section, you can send messages, share documents, and more to collaborate seamlessly within the workspace.
Messages can be sent from the ‘Send message…’ box in the workspace chat section. In addition, messages can also be sent on a specific action, giving you the ability to have threaded interactions around an action.
Messaging Basics
To send a message:
- Type in your message in the ‘Send message…’ box at the bottom and press ‘Enter/Return’ on your keyboard.
To edit a message:
- Click on the ellipses ‘...’ icon to the left of the message that was sent, and select Edit from the menu that appears. After making the required changes, click Save.
After a message is edited, you’ll see an ‘-edited’ next to the edited message to inform all the members in the workspace that the original message was edited.
To delete a message:
- Click Delete to the left of the message you want to delete.
The deletion period is set to 30 minutes after the message or file has been sent to the workspace. If you exceed the time limit to delete a message, you will no longer see the delete option.
To mention other members in the workspace:
- Use the ‘@’ symbol followed by the name of the person you want to mention.
To copy a message to another workspace:
- Click on the ellipses ‘...’ icon to the left of the message you would like to copy and select ‘Copy To…’.
- Choose the workspace to copy the message over to.
To send emojis:
- Click on the ‘emoji' icon on the right of the chat section, select the emoji you want to send, and press ‘Enter/Return’ on your keyboard.
To comment on a specific message as a threaded reply:
- Click on the ‘Comment’ icon to the left of the message or action you want to comment on.

Add your comment to the chat section at the bottom of the comment thread and press ‘Enter/Return’ on your keyboard.
Adding Files from the Chat Section
Once you’re inside a workspace, you can add files by following the steps below:
- Click on the ‘paperclip’ icon on the right side of the ‘Send message…’ box.
- Select File.
- You will see an option to either upload files from your device or from the Files section of the Content Library.
- To add the file directly, choose the file you wish to add, along with any comments you want to include. Then click Add.
You can add multiple files at once by selecting the ‘+’ icon next to the file you initially uploaded.
All files uploaded via the chat section can also be accessed by clicking on the Files section.
To copy a file to another workspace:
- Click on the ellipses ‘...’ icon to the left of the file you would like to copy and select ‘Copy To…'.
- Choose the workspace to copy the file over to.
Interacting on a Specific Action
Every action in Moxo allows the user to have a threaded conversation in that action. Send messages or exchange documents in a dedicated conversation thread for each action.
To have a conversation in the thread of an action:
- Click on the action from the Flow section of the workspace.
- Send messages from the ‘Write a Comment…’ box or upload documents by clicking on the ‘Paperclip’ icon in the Action Details section.
Using a Note
Once you’re inside a workspace, you can add a note by following the steps below:
- Click on the ‘Paperclip’ icon on the right side of the ‘Send message…’ box.
- Select Note.
- Once you’re inside the note window, you can type in the necessary information in the text box provided, and format this text using the tools provided in the top tool bar of the note.
- You can also control permissions on who is able to make edits on the note from the ‘Options’ icon in the top right.
- Once you have formatted your note according to your specifications, click on the blue ‘Done’ icon in the top right, and the note will be uploaded to the workspace.
Using a Whiteboard
A whiteboard is a digital space that allows users to draw, write, or illustrate ideas using a visual marker.
To create a whiteboard in a workspace:
- Click on the ‘Paperclip’ icon on the right side of the ‘Send message…’ box.
- Select Whiteboard.
- Once you’re inside the whiteboard window, you have the option to use the full suite of whiteboard annotation capabilities.
- You can also record a video clip of yourself going over the whiteboard by clicking on the ‘Record’ icon in the top menu bar.
To create a whiteboard inside a workspace, click on the 'Paperclip' icon on the right and select the ‘Whiteboard’ button.
Meetings
Next to the Chat section in each workspace, you will see a dedicated Meetings section inside the interaction panel. Schedule or start real-time audio and video meetings directly from within the workspace.

Chat in Group & 1:1 Workspaces
Group and 1:1 workspaces are part of the Portal package or need to be purchased as an add-on.The Chat section in a Group and 1:1 workspace also functions the same way as in a Flow workspace.
On the right of the Group or 1:1 workspace name, you will see the icons to access the Files section, Actions overview, set meetings, access bookmarks, manage members, and configure settings of this Workspace.
